IDP and Potain are awarded a total of 14 tower cranes for major projects

For the construction of a 460,00 tons/year Ethylene and 400,00 tons/year Polyethylene plant in Alexandria,

For the construction of a 460,00 tons/year Ethylene and 400,00 tons/year Polyethylene plant in Alexandria, Petrojet turned to IDP for the supply of 12x MDT 219 Potain tower cranes. Petrojet is responsible for the full construction scope of the Petrochemical complex. The selected tower cranes have a maximum lift capacity of 10 metric tons and a maximum hook height with horizontal jib that reaches out to 65 meters. Furthermore, Elsewedy Electric Co, along with the Arab Contractors, have opted for a MD 1600 and a MCT 525 M20 Potain tower crane for the construction of Stiegler’s Gorge dam in Tanzania, which is set for completion in four years and will employ nearly 1,000 to 2,000 Egyptian workers. The MD1600 has a maximum lift capacity of 64 tons and a maximum hook height per base of 91.6 meters, while the MCT 565 max reach of 80 meters and a maximum load of 20 tons.

Though many industries have been severely impacted by COVID-19, the construction industry has not drastically suffered and construction activity has not entirely been suspended.

Though many industries have been severely impacted by COVID-19, the construction industry has not drastically suffered and construction activity has not entirely been suspended. In fact, mega projects such as the construction of the New Capital, the New Alamein City and overall road construction have continued operation, although in a confined and controlled environment. To complete such up-scale projects and meet delivery deadlines, ready mix and construction companies remain determined to expand their fleet of machinery and have put their trust in Putzmeister concrete pumps.  To insure reliability, consistency and high performance, Cemento, Redcon’s ready-mix arm and Express, have trusted IDP with the supply of two brand new M56-5. Furthermore, the Chinese company for cement technology, Sinoma, who has concluded construction of the cement factory in Bani Sweif, have recently purchased a Putzmeister SPM 715 SYNCHRO, which upon delivery will be stationed at their newest project, the construction of a sugar factory.

IDP alongside our five main suppliers participated in Egypt Projects, Africa’s number one leading show in the building industry.

IDP alongside our five main suppliers participated in Egypt Projects, Africa’s number one leading show in the building industry. The 3-day exhibition took place from 27th-29th of February 2020 at Cairo’s exhibition center and was visited by 14,700 visitors and joined by 600 of the most influential companies in the construction industry. IDP participated with a 42 sqm booth in the indoor area, shared among our five main suppliers, Chryso, Promaxstar, Potain, Putzmeister, Wiggert+ Co. as well as showcased a brand new Putzmeister M 49-5 concrete pump and a Promaxstar M 100 TWN mobile batching plant at the exhibition's outdoor area. Members of leading companies responsible for the construction of mega projects such as Orascom Construction, Hassan Allam Construction and Redcon, were among many important clients who visited IDP’s booth. Moreover, important leads were generated and new prospects were met.

IDP and Alimak Industrial participated in the Egyptian Petroleum Show (EGYPS), the largest oil and gas conference and exhibition across Egypt, North Africa and the Mediterranean.

IDP and Alimak Industrial participated in the Egyptian Petroleum Show (EGYPS), the largest oil and gas conference and exhibition across Egypt, North Africa and the Mediterranean. To emphasize on the importance of Alimak Industrial elevators in the oil & gas industry and to showcase their strong existence in the global market, Mr. Tarik Salah, Alimak Area Sales Manager General Industry and Oil & Gas and Mr. Tony Whaley, Alimak Global Segment Manager Industrial Oil & Gas joined Mr. Mahmoud Anees, IDP Product Sales Manager and Mr. Hazem Akil, IDP Vice Chairman, to partake in the three-day event. Alimak industrial elevators are developed to withstand the extreme conditions of the words most hostile environments and have proven instrumental in the Oil and Gas industry. The main focus of IDP and Alimak’s participation was to demonstrate to Egypt’s and the world's biggest and most influential oil & gas corporations how Alimak’s Industrial elevators improve operational efficiency, give superior HSE performance and reduce maintenance costs. More than 35,000 visitors and 2,000 delegates attended the exhibition and was inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

IDP and Potain held a seminar to highlight the importance of safety and discuss the company’s latest products and innovations.

IDP and Potain held a seminar to highlight the importance of safety and discuss the company’s latest products and innovations. The seminar took place at Cairo’s JW Marriott and was attended by 60 of IDP’s customers, five of IDP representatives including Amr Soliman, IDP Vice Chairman and CEO and Hazem Akil, IDP Vice Chairman Marketing and Sales, and four Potain representatives. Engineers and technicians from Egypt’s leading construction companies such as Orascom Construction, Petrojet, Atrium and Hassan Allam Construction have gathered to discover more about topics such as: preventative maintenance for tower cranes, special know how for complex and difficult projects as well as Potain’s latest products and innovations. The presentations were given by Ahmed Talhimet, sales director for Potain cranes in the Middle East, Christophe Chatonnet, Potain customer service manager for the Middle East and India, Patrice Penanhoat and Jean Christophe Goiffon. Focusing on safety, the seminar’s main purpose was to promote the secure and efficient performance on Potain tower cranes.
